All SPYDERCRANES are equipped with Continuous Rotation Slip Valves at
the crane turntable. This enables the crane to turn in either direction
continuously. Always insist on 360 degree continuous rotation.
Most cranes use a set of hoses to allow the crane to pivot while connected
to the hydraulic pump and controls. This means that when the crane rotates
left or right, it draws the hoses with it, until they reach the end of
their length. Then the crane has to go in the opposite direction.

All crane functions
are hydraulically powered. A transmission-mounted oil pump,
driven by the truck's PTO, powers the slewing and hoisting
motors, the telescoping and derricking cylinders, and the
jack cylinder extensions.
