When we're ready to mount the jib, we lower the boom as low as we can so we can access the jib mounting pins. So, step one is unclipping and removing the jib pin from the forward jib storage bracket.

Once the right-side jib mounting brackets are lined up, use the first pin you pulled from the forward storage bracket and insert that into the bottom jib mounting bracket. Once the bottom right-hand side jib pin is inserted and clipped, pull the pin from the rear jib storage bracket.

When you install the jib pin into the jib mounting brackets, notice that the pin has a flat side. The flat side is going to line up with a matching flat in the mounting bracket.

Once you've inserted and clipped the jib pins on the right-side mounting brackets, boom out until you see the orange jib installation line.

With the jib removed from its forward bracket, pull the grab handle at the jib tip to rotate the entire jib into its mounting bracket up front. So, with the jib pin removed from the forward storage bracket, the entire jib assembly is going to rotate on the rear jib bracket when I pull on this grab handle on the left side of the jib tip.

Once you've installed the jib pins in the left-side jib mounting bracket, you need to plug in the jib anti-two-block switch. Remove the jib A2B switch connector from its storage bracket, open up the boom tip connector, and plug it in. Lock the plug in place, and then close the door on the jib A2B switch storage bin. Now your jib anti-two-block switch is connected and you've closed the door on the jib A2B switch connector storage.

Next, we need to connect the hydraulics. Remove the weather caps from the jib hydraulic fittings. Then pull the hydraulic connector hoses — release the storage pin and pull the two hoses. The hoses are on a lanyard, or on a spool under tension. Then feed the hoses through the boom hose guides, then push to connect. Now your two hydraulic hoses for the jib hydraulics are connected with these locking push-to-connect collars.

Now that you've connected the jib anti-two-block switch and the jib hydraulics, it's time to reeve the wire rope over the jib sheave.

I'm going to have to release this wire rope guide plate. I'm going to use a 24 mm wrench to remove the sheave pin bolt. I've removed the bolt, the split ring washer, and the major washer. With that bolt released, I'm going to tap out and remove this pin. With that sheave pin released, I'm going to remove these two pins that fasten the jib tip wire rope guide, and then the wire rope guide itself.

Reeve the wire rope through the two jib guides and then up and over the left side of the jib sheave. Once the jib tip sheave is reeved, you can return the plate. Make sure the side with the riser — the spacer — is facing toward the sheave.

Once you have the jib tip sheave reeved, then you need to get the jib anti-two-block weight. The jib tip anti-two-block weight is a two-piece design. Mount this over the wire rope like so, and then connect one carabiner and then the other one to the jib anti-two-block switch. Once the weight is mounted, secure it with the 13 mm bolt. Now your jib anti-two-block switch is connected. Then you have to reinstall the other half of the sheave pin.

Now you can unground the dismounted wire rope socket. As you can see, the wire rope goes from the drum, over the right-hand boom tip sheave, through the jib wire rope guides, and over the jib tip sheave.
